In May, founding and managing partner Sam Pond will be honored for his contributions to the Temple University Beasley School of Law with a classroom dedication ceremony.
Since his graduation from the Beasley School of Law in 1984, Mr. Pond’s powerful advocacy, made possible through his Temple legal education, has resulted in some of the largest workers’ compensation settlements in Pennsylvania and the nation. In addition to his tireless work in the courtroom, Mr. Pond constantly pours his time, energy, and resources back into the community. For decades, he has served in leadership roles for organizations like the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners and Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section while providing extensive charitable contributions to causes focused on children and education.
Through Sam’s ongoing support for Trial Advocacy at Temple, the Law School has been able to design innovative, state-of-the-art courtroom/classroom space specifically for use in preparing the next generation of Temple lawyers for success in all phases of litigation. Dean Rachel Rebouché is pleased to honor and recognize Sam and his wife Maureen’s sustained generosity to Temple Law at the class naming dedication ceremony in May.
In addition to his service on the Law School Board of Visitors, Sam teaches in Temple’s trial advocacy program and, together with Jerry Lehocky, has established the Pond Lehocky Trial Advocacy Scholarship. This fund is designed to ensure the continued success of Temple Law’s nationally ranked Trial Advocacy program by attracting competitive applicants with the potential to become exceptional trial advocates. In recognition of Sam’s many achievements, Temple University inducted him into its Gallery of Success in 2018, becoming only the 23rd alumnus of the School of Law to be recognized.
