Thomas J. Giordano shares his expertise about the importance of compiling your medical paperwork in preparation for a Social Security disability claim and steps to take to make your case more viable.
“To qualify, you must be able to provide as much information as possible about your medical treatment,” Giordano shared. “Type 2 diabetes can be a disabling condition that may be causing you to be unable to work, or unable to sustain consistent employment because you’re experiencing pain or complications, and so it’s important to understand you may be eligible for benefits.”
Giordano explains that the Social Security Administration (SSA) gathers input from healthcare providers as well as the applicant and may ask for additional information from family members and co-workers to determine whether a person qualifies.
“This is why it is important to let your doctors, colleagues, and family know you’ll be going through the application process,” Giordano stated.

Giordano has dedicated his career to assisting disabled Americans. He leads Pond Lehocky Disability, the firm’s nationwide Social Security and disability insurance arm. The department has represented tens of thousands of disabled individuals in all 50 states.
