May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Pond Lehocky Giordano knows first-hand the importance mental health plays in the lives of our clients. Pond Lehocky stands up for the injured and disabled, many of whom are not recognized because their disability is not visible.
“There is stigma to therapy because people can be prideful. I respect it because I grew up in a house where you did not talk about your issues, you just dealt with them,” Giordano shares. “The importance of treatment is paramount though. You need to be honest with yourself, what is holding you back from getting treatment? Mental health is something to be talked about.”
Invisible disabilities include — anxiety, depression, PTSD, and many more. These mental illnesses also qualify as conditions for Social Security disability. For a full list of qualifying conditions, please visit our website. Pond Lehocky urges anyone struggling to seek help.
