2024 Pond Lehocky Giordano Annual Scholarship Application
The Pond Lehocky Giordano Annual Scholarship was established to aid the friends, family members, and colleagues of the firm’s current or former workers’ compensation clients in the pursuit of higher education. The $5,000 scholarship can be put towards any institution which awards academic degrees or professional certifications, including colleges, seminaries, institutes of technology, vocational schools, and more.
The firm has seen firsthand how the death or disability of a breadwinner can leave the family teetering on financial disaster. Parents who had big dreams for their children are left with a crushing realization that they cannot help their children fulfill those dreams because of the onerous, ever-increasing expense of education.
With this scholarship, the Pond Lehocky Giordano reaffirms its commitment to provide holistic care to injured and disabled workers that extends beyond the legal process. Providing a scholarship to those impacted by work injuries recognizes the struggles clients face to be made whole again.
Pond Lehocky Giordano also understands that fighting for the hard-working members of our community is a privilege. With that privilege comes a professional and moral duty to give back to the community. Pond Lehocky Giordano has made education a key focus of its charitable efforts. This scholarship is another example of that dedication.
Our 2023 Scholarship Winner
Nicholas Enoch was awarded the 2023 Pond Lehocky Giordano Annual Scholarship because of his selflessness and unwavering dedication to his family. He has firsthand experience of how a work injury affects not only those injured but also their loved ones.
When his father suffered a traumatic brain injury and hearing loss in a workplace accident, Nicholas, along with his three siblings and mother, faced immense challenges. Despite this, they remained determined to support one another and navigate the difficult road ahead.
Nicholas displayed exceptional courage and strength, stepping up to care for his father and taking on additional responsibilities around the house. To better support his family during this difficult time, Nicholas made the tough decision to give up his lacrosse scholarship at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Instead, he transferred to Rowan University in New Jersey, a decision that allows him to be closer to home and provide the support and care his family needs.
Nicholas’s dedication to his family’s well-being is truly inspiring, and his actions exemplify the values of empathy, sacrifice, and perseverance. For these reasons, we are proud to honor Nicholas Enoch with our 2023 scholarship.
