Conor A.L. Shields earned both his bachelor’s degree in history and J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. His legal career has been focused entirely on serving the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and ensuring that the rights of victims—be they of crime or injury—are protected.
As a former Philadelphia assistant district attorney, Mr. Shields has spent thousands of hours in the courtroom handling criminal prosecutions at every stage from investigation to verdict and sentencing. During his tenure at the District Attorney’s Office, in addition to serving in the Municipal Court, Juvenile, and Charging Units, he was employed in the Central Division Bureau, prosecuting major violent crimes and criminal organizations in the Center City Philadelphia and Temple University areas. He participated in trying dozens of jury trials and otherwise negotiated, tried, or resolved thousands of criminal cases.
Prior to his seven-year term as an assistant district attorney, Mr. Shields held numerous legal and political internships and positions. He served as a congressional intern for former 10-term U.S. Congressman and current Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) Chairman Tim Holden, as a campaign representative for Superior Court candidates, and as an administrative assistant and legal intern for the PLCB. During law school, he interned for the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office and one of the largest liquor licensing law firms in the country.
